Emma Brunet-Campain

THE WRITER

Emma has always been a creative spirit, and after moving to England her love of performance extended to that of creating. Originally experimenting in devising work she soon found her voice and realised that all the crazy stories swirling around her mind had a place on paper. With a passion for poignant, untold stories and naturalistic conversation Emma loves to explore stories from multiple perspectives.

EMMA'S WORK

The Ulysses Project - 2026

Underground Theatre are creating London's biggest independent theatre production with their adaption of James Joyce's Ulysses,  and Emma has been chosen as one of their writers. She has even commissioned to adapt the chapter Sirens for the stage.

That's It - 2025

Emma's monologue titled That's It was chosen by Yellowcoat Theatre Company to be performed as part of their Pass It On Event at The Glitch in Waterloo.

Good Egg - 2025

Two years in the making, Emma's latest project Good Egg is in it's final stages of development.

Flying Duo- 2024/2025

Flying Duo was written by Emma Brunet in 2023, and is due to start filming in February of 2024. This short film follows Lady (Emma Brunet) and Zoe (Charly Faye) as they sit in a vintage gold Beatle awaiting a costume party. They are both outsiders. Small fish in the pig pond of the capital city. But most importantly, they are both dreamers.

Lonesome - 2024

Before Flying Duo there was Lonesome. This short poem inspired Emma's debut short film, and was also turned into a visual poem.

Bitter Sweet - 2023

Written for Kingdom Drama School for their 2023 industry showcase, this theatrical monologue explores grief and the absurdity of feelings.

The Prism - 2020

The Prism was an interactive theatrical experience created by the London based Theatre company Les Enfants Terrible during the first Covid-19 lockdown. Emma Brunet co-wrote the segment of The Three Clowns alongside fellow creatives Robyn and Charly Faye

Do You Want A Jelly Baby? - 2019

Performed at The Farnham Maltings' Tindle studio, this short play was written by Emma Brunet and Ben Cooper. It explored the flip side of abusing relationships, showing that men can be victims of this too.

The Writer's Block - 2018

What goes through the mind of a writer when all thoughts are blocked? This fun, experimental play explored the child-like mind of a struggling writer desperately trying to finish a story. With dinosaurs and catchy jingles this piece took the Farnham Maltings' mains stage by storm.

Emma is also currently working on her new play, Anomalies.

Flying Duo

Zoe and Lady are each other's closest friends. They are both outsiders. Small fish in the pig pond of the capital city. But most importantly, they are both dreamers. Lady has moved from France, away from her family and home to live her London dream and Zoe has done the same from a small English Village. They are both here together; Two tiny peas in a very big pond.

Sitting in Zoe's beat up, retro gold Beatle Volkswagen the two girls chomp on their fast food. At no point do they look at each other. We don't know why. They don't acknowledge their rather... interesting attire. We don't know why. But what they do do... is talk. About life, London and pigeons. These are two girls that have dreamed of coming to the city, but now they are here they have got lost in the smoke. Zoe and Lady must push through the loneliness they both feel, and perhaps in doing so realised that yes, they are lonely in London. But they are lonely together.

Flying Duo  premiered on October 15th at the iconic Ritzy Picturehouse in Brixton. It showed alongside all of the team's films created over the last two years, making it a celebration of their work to date!  With a packed audience in the centre of London, it was the perfect beginning for this story. It will now begin its festival run.

PASS IT ON

"THAT'S IT"

Pass It On. Let them know. No one left behind.

People of this world survive on a network of unheard conversations. Secrets passed from mothers to daughters, between friends, to colleagues, in the passing glances with strangers.

What are these words? What happens when we amplify them? What would it mean to put them on stage?

Pass It On is a monologues programme for emerging creatives from marginalised genders. Emma has written the monologue "That's It", which will be performed by Maddy Kamleh-Chapman on the 31st October and 2nd November.

That's It will be performed at The Glitch, Waterloo, alongside Company C. Tickets can be purchased via the YellowCoat Theatre Company Website.

ULYSSES

The

Project

13 Hours. No Intermission. 13 Directors. 13 Writers. 1 Day.

Production company Underground Theatre are creating London's biggest independent Theatre Production in 2026 with their adaption of James Joyce's 'Ulysses'.

Just like the original, this production will follow the Odyssey of everyday experience, tracking a few characters over the course of a single day, put on stage in real time across 13 continuous hours. Each hour corresponding to one chapter or section of Ulysses. Each hour will be created by a different writer, director, and cast. They will be forming a vast creative collective united by a shared mission and constant communication, but with the opportunity to express distinct voices and singular formal experimentation.

Emma has been chosen as one of these writers, and will be adapting the chapter 'Sirens' for the stage.

For more information about this amazing project you can check out Underground Theatre's website.
